McSweeney - Sponsored Fighter
Born:
24th october 1980
Started Kickboxing at the age of 5 years old, for the
Combat Academy.
Started studying Thai-boxing at the age of 7 years for
the Combat Academy.
S tudied both martial arts for ten years, and successfully
reached brown belts by the age of 15 years.
Was
injured out of the sport for a year, due to a knee problem,
ripped cartlidge.
Recovered and was back training hard, winning numerous
amateur titles includinding Nothern, Midland and Southern
area titles in full-contact kickboxing.
In
2000 was approached by Extreme Brawl, and discovered
K-1.
Fought for Extreme Brawl for 2 years, and had many fights,
a new concept, fighting in a steel cage, but the style
was very close to thai-boxing.
6th
June 2003 fought the Lithunian Thai-boxing champion
and won over 3-rounds.
Approached
by the Dutch fighting team, TGT and began training in
Amsterdam with Henk Verchure, and had numourous fights
in Europe.
August 2005 the team changed trainers, and James was
trained by the legendary Thai trainer Lucien Carbin.
Had
many fights including the Battle of the Border in Belgium
which was an official K-1 tournament, in also winning
the Muay-Thai British super heavy weight title in Crawley,
London.
In
October 2005 I left the TGT in Holland, but im still
being trained and managed by Lucien Carbin, and train
with some of the best fighters in the world such as:
Tyrone sprong, Alistair Overeem, Rodney Vereres, Jerry
morris.
James
fought at the Seni 06 Pain & Glory against the Japanese
K-1 star Takeru, and won over 3-rounds.
